Flathead Valley and Northwest Montana
Northwest
Montana is one of the most beautiful parts of North America and
the Flathead Valley is close to everything Northwest Montana has
to offer.. The diverse scenery and recreational activities available
makes this land a place everyone should someday visit. The following
is a brief explanation of some of the sites and activities that
should be enjoyed by all.
Flathead
Lake
Flathead
Lake is sometimes referred to by some as the largest freshwater
lake west of the Mississippi River. The Recreational opportunities
are many including boating, fishing, water skiing, scuba diving,
canoeing. And the surrounding area has some of the best hunting
in the Northwest. This beautiful lake also provides fine camping
opportunities and if you need a camper, slide in pickup camper,
RV, or pop up tent camper, visit Montana
Recreation Station in Columbia Falls, MT.
The
Flathead River
The
Flathead River is a winding major waterway in Northwest Montana's
Flathead Valley. The river enjoys the purity of Northern streams
and fresh water fishing for trout. Spring and summer also draws
people for the best of White Water Rafting and canoeing and kayaking.
The middle Fork of the Flathead being some of the best for rafting.
Rafts can be rented from Montana Recreation
Station in Columbia Falls, Montana if you do not bring one
with you.
Bob
Marshall Wilderness
What
can anyone say about the Bob Marshall Wilderness other than beautiful
or fantastic. You need to visit and spend a week or two to get
any idea of what is here. Fresh water trout fishing in the summer
and bear, elk or deer hunting is the fall. Again Montana
Recreation Station can help you with your rental needs.
Glacier
National Park
Glacier
National Park, sometimes just called Glacier Park by some is considered
part of The Flathead Valley. When in Glacier Park you can park
your RV or camp trailer in one of their very nice camp areas and
of course if you want to just drive up and rent your camper, slide
in pickup camper, pop up tent camper, come to
Montana Recreation Station, less than 20 mile from Glacier
National Park in Columbia Falls.
Waterton
Park
Waterton
Park is just across the border in Canada. It is actually a continuation
of the same park area as Glacier National Park in the United States.
Another beautiful area, you might want to take an extra few days
to explore Waterton also. The best place to rent your RV, camper
trailer or pickup camper is still at Montana Recreation Station
a short jaunt from Waterton.
